Sailing and Motorboating in Spain:

The great sailing tradition of Andalusía and the cleanliness of its waters and the warm climate make this coast a popular place in which to enjoy watersports. From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, the 836 kms. of Andalusían coastline are dotted with excellent facilities, that provide an excellent range of activities.

Rowing and canoeing in Spain:

Rowing and canoeing is possible on many lakes and rivers, where canoes and kayaks can usually be rented. There are marinas inland, at Sevilla and Gelves that support sailing in the River Guadalquivir near from its mouth beside Doñana National Park. There are also boating facilities at source of the Guadalquivir in Tranco de Beas Reservoir in the Nature Park of Cazorla, Segura (Jaén province), and also at Las Villas. There are similar facilities on the Iznájar Reservoir that covers parts of three provinces - Córdoba, Málaga and Granada.

Windsurfing, Surfing & Kite Surfing in Spain:

The varied coast line offers windsurfers at all levels the chance to practice this sport. Tarifa is a world class windsurfing location. It is on the annual world windsurfing championship circuit. Ten kilometres of white sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside and some of the best windsurfing conditions in Europe have established Tarifa as a true surfers paradise.Just 11 km across the Straits of Gibraltar at its narrowest point, this southern-most tip of Europe where the Med meets the Atlantic Ocean, enjoys spectacular views of the Rif mountains of Africa across the water.

Snorkelling and Diving in Spain:

There are countless locations to dive along the coast in Andalucía. Snorkeling is something that pretty well anyone who can swim can do, with the minimum of equipment - basically, it's a snorkel, facemask and flippers and away you go. The relatively calm seas and gentle tides provide a perfect environment for face-down fun. Having said that, divers should always ensure that someone else knows they are in the water, and approximately where they are going to be, in case they do get into difficulties and need help. A diving permit is obligatory in Spanish waters. They cost approximately 1.000 ptas and are available from clubs and schools.

Salt water Fishing in Spain:

The Atlantic and Mediterranean shorelines are ideal for fishing. many of the marinas provide everything required for a day of open sea fishing. Swordfish fishing is most spectacular, it is immortalised in several feature films. From July to September swordfish are found off the coasts of Almería, Granada and Málaga, as well as in the Bay of Cádiz.

Fresh water Fishing & Angling in Spain:

Fishing in rivers and dams in Andalucía is also a popular sport, where trout, pike and black bass are found, as well as ciprinidae family, barbel and carp. Trout fishing is the most attractive to anglers, owing to its difficulty, no doubt. There are 64 fishing preserves in the Nature Parks of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas and of Sierra Nevada.

Marinas in Spain:

Accessibility, safety and an ample range of complementary services are the main characteristics of Andalucían ports and marinas. Many of them already have large berths, as well as yacht clubs, sports facilities, boat and equipment rental, hotels, casinos and shopping areas, plus fuel, workshops, cranes and winter

Alcaidesa Links Golf Club, which was opened in 1992, by former Ryder up player and Captain Bernard Gallagher, is an experience that cannot be found anywhere else in Spain; it is the first true links course in the country and is very reminiscent of a Scottish course with gorse bushes and heather. Located to the west of San Roque, in an area rich with enthusiastic golfers the course has recently undergone an extensive programme of remodelling; fairways have been improved and widened.

This course can be found in Alhaurín el Grande, just behind the Mijas mountain range, and easily accessible from all points of the western Costa del Sol, the Alhaurín Golf & Hotel Resort is one of the most ambitious sports and tourism developments in the entire country. Visiting golfers will find themselves spoilt for choice, for there are 45 holes in all, 27 of which were designed by Seve Ballesteros. There is an 18-hole full-length course, a nine-hole short course and also the only 18-hole par three course in Andalucía. On the main course the fairways are long and narrow with greens protected by a fierce array of bunkers, lakes and gardens, but the fact that there are up to six different teeing areas at each hole means that the course can be adapted to any level of skill. The Alhaurín Golf four-star hotel opened in 1998 and there is also a riding centre, swimming pool, tennis courts and other facilities.

The Aloha Golf Course was designed by Javier Arana, one of Spain´s best known golf architects. It was designed in October 1975 and is considered a the start of the boom within the promotion and development of Spanish golf courses. Situated in Nueva Andalusia, the Mecca of the European Golf. Aloha is a natural Golf Course, with a varied vegetation, where one hole is never like another. Neither long nor short, perfectly kept.

Most of the fairways are fairly wide, though danger lurks on either side, but the greens are tricky, especially the par-five 10th with its adjacent lake. In recent years the club has benefited from several improvements, namely replanted fairways and a refurbishment of the clubhouse and changing rooms. Aloha is a private club but welcomes visitors all year round. Among its regulars is European Tour player Diego Borrego.

Atalaya Golf & Country Club has been one of the most popular clubs on the Costa del Sol since its opening in 1968. Situated between Marbella and Estepona, it is suitable for all levels of play from total beginners to international pro´s, due to the diversity of its tees. Atalaya offers one of the largest driving ranges in Spain and supplies tuition in several languages.

The views over the Mediterranean and the La Concha mountain are beautiful. This is a challenging course, it starts off deceptively gently between the wide, flat fairways of the Atalaya Old Course but things soon get more difficult as you move up into the foothills. The return leg wanders gently down among the fairways of the older course towards the chalet-style clubhouse. The Bermuda fairways are lined with wildflowers, gorse bushes and lakes.

Situated in the fabulous former estate of the Saudi magnate Adnan Kashogui, on the road between Marbella and Ronda. The Club is one of the most complete on the Costa del Sol. Its surroundings are equally unique as it is located in a protected nature reserve.

This strictly private course forms part of the most exclusive development in Spain, the 1,000-hectare tract of land which used to belong to Saudi financier Adnan Khashoggi, who once lived in what is now the palatial clubhouse. The rest of what used to be his estate is now a nature reserve with many diverse species of plants and wildlife, though there is also hunting fishing, riding and a heliport. La Zagaleta is located 10 kilometres up the Ronda road from San Pedro and from it there are magnificent views over the hills and the sea to Gibraltar. The golf course was designed by Californian Bradford Benz..

We have the pleasure of presenting our modest course of 9 holes (Par 3). The distance from the tees to the greens change considerably, and although it is a short course, ideal for short play, you have the feeling of playing on a much wider ground. The course is not too difficult. The 7th hole can be played with a wood club to reach the green. There are wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea from the 1st and 9th hole.
